- PARISH FAITH FORMATION
- Faith Formation for Children & Youth
The parish faith formation program (PFF) at St. Patrick’s serves all youth from preschool to 12th grade. PFF entails learning the truths of the Faith through interaction with Sacred Scripture and Tradition, fostering familiarity with the Church’s devotional practices, and nurturing a close personal union with Christ through the Sacraments of his Church.
Classes are held from 8:45-9:45 on Sunday mornings during the academic year.
Children in grades K-8 use the “Spirit of Truth” curriculum from Sophia Press. High school students study Theology of the Body using “YOU” from Ascension Press, and also use the YDisciple program made available through www.formed.org.
First Holy Communion typically occurs in the second grade. Confirmation will be celebrated in the 2018/19 school year for all students in grades 7-10; afterward, it will be every other year for students in grades 7 and 8.
Registration occurs in late summer. To obtain registration forms, to volunteer as a catechist, or for more information, please contact Ashley Roberts at firstname.lastname@example.org or 937-592-1656.
- Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is the Church’s process of initiating adult members into the Catholic Faith. It involves the teaching of the Sacred Scriptures, prayer, catechesis on Catholic doctrine, growth in community, and an emphasis on developing one’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ. RCIA is required for all non-baptized as well as baptized non-Catholic Christians who seek full communion into the Catholic Church.
Classes are held in the RCIA room of the parish offices from 6:30-8:00 on Tuesday evenings. RCIA begins in the fall and reaches its culmination with the reception of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
To register, or for more information, please contact Ashley Roberts at email@example.com or 937-592-1656.
- SPIRITUAL LIFE
- Infant Baptisms:
Parents wishing to have their child baptized must be registered members of the Parish, and both parents must attend a Baptism Preparation class that is held by Julie Quay. If as a parent you have attended our class in the past three years, you need not attend again. You can register for the class by calling the Parish Office. Baptisms are celebrated during Sunday masses or at another suitable time. Contact Julie Quay at 937-592-1656.
- Marriage Preparation
Marriage preparation needs to begin no later than six months prior to the date of the intended marriage. A wedding date cannot be set until the pastor is contacted. Call the Parish Office and request to speak with the priest. Each couple is required to conform to the Archdiocese guidelines and participate in the Pre-Cana experience. Brochures on Pre-Cana and copies of our Parish Marriage Guidelines may be obtained from the Parish Office or at the preliminary meeting with the priest.
- Catholics Returning Home
A forum for those Catholics who, for their own reasons, have left the church and now wish to return. The format is that of an open discussion on current church positions and an in-depth study of the sacraments and sacred Scriptures. Contact the Parish Office.
